Effective March 31st, 2022 the GTHA will no longer be acting as the collection agent for the City of Toronto for the Municipal Accommodation Tax. The City will have an online reporting tool available as of April 15th.

The GTHA is the voice of the Greater Toronto Area’s hotel industry, representing 170 hotels, with approximately 36,000 guest rooms and 32,000 employees.
Founded in 1925, the Greater Toronto Hotel Association has been serving the hotel industry of the Greater Toronto Area for over ninety years.
The Greater Toronto Hotel Association (GTHA) will collect the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) on the City’s behalf. All operators of properties applicable to the MAT must register with the GTHA.
